Here's Angela looking
Tres Chic in her beaded safety glasses. She is sitting next to
my glass rod storage rack.
And she's every bit
as colorful as that glass, folks !

Here are Angela's
Day One Beads:
Turquoise and Ivory,
Ivory and Turquoise, Amber & Black Tab, Amethyst Heart with
rose and stem, and Lime Green and Turquoise Sputnik bead
|
|
Angela drove down
from Northern New Jersey to learn beadmaking. She is a visiting
nurse who makes beautiful jewelry with her business partner,
Anna Marie (also a nurse). The two of them have been buying up
lampwork by the bunch on eBay, but then Angela decided that learning
how to do it herself would save them lots of money !!
And at the rate she's going, it won't be long before others will
be buying her work on eBay !! |
Day Two Beads:
(clockwise from right)
Lime & purple poked flower, Bluegreen frit bead encased,
Turquoise with Ivory latticino; Ivory Pendant (HUGE!) with olive
stringer and silver plum metallic frit; Pale pink, lime and purple
flattened tab, Amber, Amethyst & Goldstone

No one comes away
from my class without lots of hands-on experience in the many
aspects of beadmaking.
Here's Angela crushing some poor little glass rod bits to smithereens
!!
(Otherwise know as "Frit" )
She's using a homemade
Frit Maker. It's a metal pipe from the hardware store, with one
end cap (mortar) and a smaller diameter pipe with two end caps
(pestle).
Notice she's wearing
a face mask ? That's because she's also putting tiny particles
of finely ground glass into the air, and believe me, you DON'T
want to breath glass dust into your lungs !
Don't take chances
with your health !! Better safe than sorry !!
|
I can't believe
she's making me do this! |
|
Great Job, Angela!
You can roast and toast with the best of them!! |
